MASTIKSTRÆ
Mastikstræ, også kaldet lentisk, giver et grønt, aromatisk tema med harpiks og træ. Olie fra blade og kviste kan dufte urteagtigt og jordagtigt med nåletræsfriskhed over varmere træ. Det kan minde om løvrigt krat frem for en sød pistaciedessert, selv om planten er beslægtet med pistacie. I parfume kan det forbinde klar citrus med et grønnere harpikspræg eller give træ mere kontur.
Pistacia lentiscus er en stedsegrøn busk, der giver forskellige duftmaterialer. Blade og kviste kan destilleres til æterisk olie, mens harpiksen mastik er en anden kilde. Materialerne er ikke ens. Bladolien kan fremhæve grønt, harpiksolien træ og nåletræ. Noten angiver ikke bestemt materiale, oprindelse eller blanding.
